Here we are, back at the trails by Monticello. Gevenvieve, a new friend, met us last minute for an early morning hike. Here are some of the things we saw:
This is 'Carter Overlook'. The mountains didn't really show up in the picture, but it's a nice view. And a great stage, as Harlan pointed out.
The geese were very friendly. I think they thought we had food...
Unfortunately, Harlan ate all of our snacks by the time we got to the pond. We'll plan better next time.
Crashed out post-hike and lunch.
It got up to 80 yesterday afternoon, so we headed to 'The Corner' for some ice cream with Dad after class. Little did we know that the one ice cream shop around was a combo Baskin Robbins/Dunkin Donuts. Before we could stop the sales clerk, she had a glazed munchkin in Harlan's hand. He was the happiest kid around.
Daffodils are all over town. Here's a little patch over H's shoulder. Spring is here! Spring is here! Spring is here today!
I'm not sure what these little pods are in the tree, but they are so pretty. It looks like the trees have been decorated with holiday garlands.
